Visual Arts and Design by Donna Jackson
Creating for Creation Sake
My name is Donna Jackson and I am the owner of DMJStudio. It is my space where I create things that matter to me as a woman, a person of color, an urban dweller and a global citizen. Most of my work and projects uses the power of art to tell stories about different communities in a visually impactful way. It is a way of telling stories collectively.
Through public art, exhibits, film, social collaboration in non-traditional spaces, neighborhoods and public spaces DMJStudio closes the gaps between neighborhoods and places like museums, galleries, and other cultural institutions.
We want art to be available for all and our services and projects are geared to do just that. DMJ’s goals are simple; to develop yearly projects and exhibitions that focus on current issues, ideas and the diversity of life, giving more people an opportunity to think outside of our daily beliefs and understandings.
