Weekend of March 20 – Posters and Painting Combines

This weekend I started the sketches for some posters I am developing.  Here they are:

These drawings are 11 x 17 in size and will become full posters and paintings. This week was busy like last week and  I didn’t get a chance to sit and draw until 9:30 tonight. Next weekend I look forward to moving these drawings to the next step, which is digitizing them and pulling out the Wacom to color and detail them.

I have not been really successful with bringing the subject manner that I draw and paint (abstract woman form) into my design layout. In most cases, I feel that the final pieces I digitally create lose the organic feel. I don’t like what I see after hours of rendering. This time I am going to do something a little different. I see doing some of the layout digitally, and , to keep the organic feel, I will do some collaging and hand inking to the layout.
