It’s All About Love

Love is wonderful thing. It really is. I was doing some research on the Internet. There are like a Ka-billion quotes on love, a gazillion songs about love and so on and so on.

I decided to make a couple of posters based on LOVE. While I created these, I listened to some older love songs from Lou Rawls and Kurt Elling and a current crooner, MAXWELL (his new CD is wonderful. All of his music is wonderful)  to get in the creative mood.

This process was a good one for me. It reminded me about all the things I do love and care about. I love my family and I love seeing children grow. I love painting and getting big hugs from family and friends. I love when the world decides to help each other to make it a better place.  It is so much to love and to love doing, I don’t understand why so many of us (me included) dwell on the unloving things so.

I was told by a friend that one reason negative and unloving things stay in our minds and memories so long is because as early humans, we worked from basic instincts and not intellect and spirit. So, to learn about danger and how to keep out of it,  these “negative memories’ were burnt into our psyche. As we evolve, unfortunately, this basic instinctual way of learning didn’t go away. Not sure where he got his info.

If it is true, I pray that we learn quickly how to focus more on love and loving ourselves and each other so that the next generation won’t have to ask this question.  Here are the posters I created using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator:

One of my favorite quotes on love:  Let us not love with word and tongue, but with action and truth.

Until next week -
